Atlas GP7
"Plug and Play" install with TCS TH150DP
On the top of the TCS TH150DP decoder is
a part with a marking of "8.00". This
part is used to orient the decoder in relation to the
locomotive's cab during installation. The TCS provided
extension socket is used for this installation.

TH150DP Decoder
8.00 part away from cab
Use supplied extension plug
Important note: recent
versions of the GP7 from Atlas has the
locomotive circuit board attached to the top
of the motor turned 180 degrees from the
picture.
That arrangement does not allow clearance
for the TH150DP.
This can be fixed by turning the locomotive
circuit board end for end (see instructions
below) |
- 14/28/128 speed steps, extended addressing,
advanced consisting
- 1.3 amps, quiet drive, dither, function
remapping
- Five functions (each rated 125ma), Special
lighting effects
- OPS, Direct, Paged, Register and Bit
Manipulation programming
- NMRA medium 8 pin plug,
0.845"x0.68"x0.165"
- Photo provided by Train Control
Systems. Used with permission.
If you need to turn the GP7 locomotive circuit board
end for end:
- Remove the four push clips that attach the wires
from the trucks.
- Remove the circuit board, turn it end for end,
and reinstall.
- Reattach the four wires with the push clips.
- Install TH150DP decoder as shown above with 8.00
part oriented away from the cab.
- Remove motor leads from the locomotive circuit
board and swap them (black is now where red was,
and vice-versa).
- To get the correct auto reverse operation of the
headlights make CV49=16 and CV50=00.
