Lots of New Stuff Here!
What has been updated on this web site?
Effective July 4, we are not able to process online or email registrations or tour/event registrations prior to the convention. This includes tour/event addition/cancellations and/or exchanges. You may register in person at the Registration Desk, or make tour additions/changes at the Tour Desk, starting at 12 noon Sunday, July 8. Both of these Desks are in the main convention hotel (Millennium - Regal).
Cardinal Baseball Game Available ![]()
Friday night, Cardinals vs. Detroit. $17/ticket (tour 63520).
Gateway 2001 will sponsor the Gateway 2001 and NMRA night at the St. Louis Cardinals Night
at the Ballpark. Only $17 per ticket to watch the world renowned Cardinals play the
Detroit Tigers on July 13, 2001, at Busch Stadium, just a block from the main convention
hotel (Millennium). The evening promises to be a fun night of baseball and camaraderie
with fellow NMRA members, with recognition of our presence by the Cardinals. Come and see
the homerun kig, Mark "Big Mac" McGwire hit a homerun and see if you can catch a
glimpse of Jack Buck, Stan Musial, Lou Brock or some other famous ball players. Get your
ticket from the Tour Desk at the Millennium after 12 noon Sunday, July 8.
Hotel Addition!
Additional rooms have been secured at the Mariott Pavillion Hotel
two blocks from the main convention hotel. This hotel will be on the official convention
shuttle route. See the Hotel page for more information. We also
added the NMRA travel agent for air and rental car arrangements.
Friday Night Dinner Cruise!
Our original Mississippi Riverboat Dinner Cruise
was so popular we now added a Friday evening cruise (tour 63325) to the schedule. Get your ticket from the Tour Desk
at the Millennium after 12 noon Sunday, July 8.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I register for the convention? What does it cost?
A: Online and email registration is now closed. Register in person at the Registration
Desk at the Main Convention Hotel (Millennium-Regal) after 12 noon Sunday, July 8.
Registration is $115 for the primary registrant, $40 for his/her spouse, and $20 or free
for youths/children (depending on their age). The primary registrant must be an NMRA
member. You can join the NMRA and register at the same time, just note it and add the
extra $34 for NMRA membership.
Q: Who has to register for the convention?
A: You must be registered to participate in or attend all convention activities: tours,
clinics, banquets, auctions, contests, SIG rooms, and early entry into the NTS on Friday
morning. Access to these activities requires an official registration badge (either from
the Gateway 2001 Convention or the NTS). A spouse or child needs to be registered to
participate in these activities.
Q: How do I register for hotels?
A: Hotel registration is through the NMRA Housing Bureau, not the hotels directly. Use the
Housing Bureau Form in the NMRA Bulletin
or on our download page. The download page has the revised form
with the 4th convention hotel listed. The form has to be sent directly to the Housing
Bureau by mail or fax. Shuttle buses will run between the convention hotels, and between
the hotels and the National Train Show.
Q: Are tours and banquets priced separately?
A: Yes. Tours and food events are additional. That way you only pay for what you want.
Almost all tours include transportation in air-conditioned motor coaches (except for the
reduced cost "no ride" banquet option, the luncheon in the main convention hotel
and the Cardinals game). You cannot "drive yourself" to the scheduled convention
tours. Online and email registration for tours is now closed. Please visit the Tour Desk
at the Main Convention Hotel (Millennium-Regal) after 12 noon Sunday, July 8 to purchase
tour tickets.
Q: Where and I read General Information on the Convention as well
as the Convention's Policy?
A: General Info and Policy web page.
Q: If I don't attend the convention, how much is the National
Train Show only?
A: $9 per day per person, $16 each for a multi-day pass. www.nationaltrainshow.com
Q: If I have other questions, who do I ask?
A: Our registrar. Email him at register@gatewaynmra.org
