Monthly Division Meetings and Model
Railroad Clinics
Our
monthly division meetings start at 7:00 pm with a
model railroading clinic or workshop (see description
below). A short business
meeting follows the clinic. Regular division model
railroading meetings are open to the public and are on
the third Monday of each month. Refreshments are
provided at the meeting. Guests are always welcome.
Our next scheduled meeting is on Monday,
May 20, 2013 at 7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Churn
in West St. Louis County.

Clinic: Model kits for our annual kitbash
contest will be distributed to members to be
returned completed for display and/or judging at
the September 16, 2013 Gateway meeting. Phil
Bonzon MMR will discuss how the kit could be
built to make AP Merit Award (87.5 points)
There will be two contest categories: Craftsman
(previous winners) and Novice. A $5 charge will
be made for the Grant Line kits being
distributed, you get the entire $5 back when you
return the model at the September meeting. |

Division Meeting

Clinic: Phil Bonzon MMR will demonstrate
his technique for turning ceiling tile into rock
buffs. This is a quick, inexpensive and
effective way of achieving rock bluffs. Phil
will show his “Best of Show” award winning
“Cressmont, WV” diorama, which used this
technique for making rock bluffs. |

Clinic: Swap meet and videos on model and
prototype railroading. Dig out your surplus
equipment, clean it up and bring it to the swap
meet. You might also find that item that you
have been looking for so long. |

Clinic: Contest Instructions for building a
paper diorama will be distributed to members
with the completed diorama to be returned
completed for display and/or judging at the
December 16, 2013 Gateway meeting. Phil
Bonzon MMR will show members examples at the
meeting as to what can be built. There will be
two contest categories Craftsman (previous
winners) and Novice. |
