Additional Shopping Spots
The following are other major shopping stops besides
Union Station and St. Louis Centre (which were
previously described in the "Downtown"
section).
St. Louis Galleria: An elegant
environment with a world-class art collection, imported
marble floors, acres of soaring skylights and a virtual
garden paradise, the 1.2 million square foot shopping
"city" offers 180 specialty shops, 18
restaurants and a 6-screen theatre. 10 minutes west of
downtown.
Plaza Frontenac: This elegant and
distinctive indoor shopping mall houses Saks Fifth
Avenue, Neiman-Marcus, and other extraordinary stores.
15 minutes west of downtown.
Northwest Plaza: Largest shopping
center in the region with more that 150 specialty
stores, theme restaurants, multiplex cinemas and a
family fun center with a miniature golf court. 25
minutes northwest of downtown.
Westport Plaza: In a Swiss Alpine
Village setting, you'll find hotels, cozy
European-styles boutiques, ethnic cuisine and nightlife
just 20 minutes west from downtown.
Crestwood Plaza: Nice shopping center
with over 100 specialty shops. 20 minutes southwest of
downtown.
Kirkwood Shopping District: Many
specialty shops, restaurants, and nightclubs on Kirkwood
road. Leave the railfan at the park across from historic
Kirkwood Station in the heart of this
area (or at the railroad hobby shop
down the block) and go shopping! Just 20 minutes west of
downtown.
St. Clair Square: Nice shopping
center with over 100 specialty shops on the Illinois
side of the river. Only 15 minutes east of downtown.
Downtown St. Charles: Quaint shops in
the historic setting of downtown St. Charles, about 30
minutes northwest of downtown.
